Module of GRE
The GRE exam consists of three main sections each designed to measure different skills and abilities.
Verbal Reasoning
This section evaluates your ability to analyse and comprehend written material. It includes reading comprehension passages, sentence equivalence and text completion questions to assess your command over the English language.
Quantitative Reasoning
The QR section tests your quantitative problem-solving skills. It includes multiple-choice and numeric entry questions that measure your understanding of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis.
Analytical Writing
In this section, you must write two essays - an "Issue Task" essay that presents an argument and an "Argument Task" essay where you critique a given argument. This section assesses your critical thinking and analytical writing abilities.
Types of GRE Exams
There are two types of GRE exams: the General and the Subject Tests. The General Test is the most common GRE test required for admission to most of the graduate programs. The Subject Tests are optional and are designed to measure your knowledge in specific subject areas such as biology, chemistry or psychology.
